Job description
We currently have a full-time position available for an apprentice Truck Mechanic at our Truck Shop location in Saint Leonard, NB.
We’re looking for an apprentice or junior diesel mechanic responsible for general maintenance of large transport trucks. This can be a physically demanding position that requires the candidate to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities and requirements:
Repairing and replacing parts and components of commercial truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems
Inspect and test engines to locate faults and malfunctions
Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools
Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
Estimate parts and labour costs
Perform scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance service
Complete reports to record problems and work performed
Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications:
Truck Mechanic License will be an asset
Previous dealership experience is considered an asset
Strong computer diagnostics & repair skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Schedule:
9-hour shift
Monday to Friday
