Job description

We currently have a full-time position available for an apprentice Trailer Mechanic at our Hartland location.

We’re looking for an apprentice or junior mechanic responsible for the repair and maintenance of large commercial trailers. This is a physically demanding position that requires the candidate to be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities and requirements:

  • Repairing and replacing parts of trailers including mechanical, brakes, bearings, suspensions, electrical systems, and hitch installs

  • Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions

  • Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications

  • Perform scheduled maintenance service

  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

  • Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous dealership experience is considered an asset but not required

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Schedule:

  • 9-hour shift

  • Monday to Friday

  • Weekends on-Call rotation

  • Possible overtime
